Here are the steps needed to complete the Narrative Composer Client installation
Summary
- Meet minimum requirements and ensure .NET Programmability is installed
- Install Information Bridge Framework Client
- Install Narrative Composer
- Run DotNet20Fix.msi
- Run IBFHotFix.exe
- Import Meta Data
- Open Narrative Composer and configure security
Minimum Requirements
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional with SP3 or later or Windows XP Professional with SP1 or later
- Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 with SP1
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 or later
- Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 (Word, Outlook, Excel, and InfoPath)
Additional Office Components
- Microsoft Office .NET Programmability Support
- Microsoft Office Tools Smart Tag .NET Programmability Support
To install the components listed above, perform the following steps:
- In Add / Remove Programs, locate Microsoft Office
Professional Edition 2003 and click Change
- Insure Add or Remove Features is selected and click Next
- Select Choose advanced customization of applications and click Next
Expand Microsoft Office Excel and make sure .NET Programmability Support is set to Run from My Computer
NOTE: If you do not see the .NET Programmability Support option there it means you do not have the .NET Framework installed.
- Expand Microsoft Office Outlook and make sure .NET Programmability Support is set to Run from My Computer
- Expand Microsoft Office Word and make sure .NET Programmability Support is set to Run from My Computer
- Expand Office Tools and make sure Smart Tag .NET Programmability Support is set to Run from My Computer
- Click Update
Microsoft Information Bridge Framework
ACES Narrative Composer
To install ACES Narrative Composer, perform the following steps,
NOTE: If you receive an error during setup of Narrative Composer about installer types in soxitemuiassembly.dll you will need to install the IBF Client components first, then run the Narrative Composer Setup
- Run the setup program
- Click Next at Welcome screen
- Enter the URL to the Aces Web Service. For example, http://aces/_vti_bin/acesservice.asmx
- Click Next
- Click Next
- Click Close
- Run the file C:\Program Files\AVIVA Consulting Group\Narrative Composer\2.1\misc\DotNet20Fix.msi
Run the file C:\Program Files\AVIVA Consulting Group\Narrative Composer\2.1\misc\IBFHotFix.exe
Import Meta Data
